What made you want to work at Kumamoto Coremix?
Previously, I worked in a manufacturing site assembling packaging machines. My previous job was a large workplace, but each person's work was clearly divided, and it was not uncommon for a day to end without speaking to anyone. Because of this, I had a strong desire to work in a workplace where there was conversation. That's when I found Kumamoto Coremix on a job-hunting website.
One of the reasons I became interested in the job was that I'd always loved manga, but I was also drawn to the idea of a job that involved "communicating with people." What made me decide to take the employment exam was the opportunity to try something new. I'd worked in manufacturing for a long time, but rather than continuing in the same field, I wanted to try something new in a different field. Strangely, I didn't feel anxious about the unknown job of managing a theater company, and instead I was excited to take on something new.
Kumamoto Coremix Theatre Department Work
The Theatre Company Division is responsible for the practical operations of the all-female Kumamoto Opera Company, based in Kumamoto. Specifically, it could be said that the division is responsible for "everything necessary to keep a theatre company running," including managing the schedules of the troupe members, arranging instructors for rehearsals, caring for the members' physical and mental health, compiling performance data, and processing invoices.
This job does not follow a set daily schedule, so you will need to prioritize your work each day while monitoring the company's members and the theater's attendance. Another feature of this job is that it involves a wide range of tasks in addition to deskwork. For example, it is a varied job that requires quick action, such as accompanying the company to event appearances, handing out flyers on the street before and after performances to attract customers and increase awareness, and visiting stores around the theater to say hello.
Since this was my first time in the industry, I didn't even understand the terminology at first, and every day was a continuous learning experience. However, as I interacted with the troupe members every day, I could see their acting and singing skills improving, and the smiles on the faces of the audience after the performance, and I could feel their growth, and before I knew it, I began to feel happy as if it were my own achievement.
In the future, I would like to further acquire specialized knowledge and become more confident in communicating with instructors and external parties. I am also using my experience in automating tasks using functions in my previous job to work on improving the efficiency of theater company management.
The good points of Kumamoto Core Mix
One of the great things about Kumamoto Coremix is the strong communication within the company. We can talk freely not only within our department but also with other departments, and there is an atmosphere where we can chat casually without hesitation.
Another great thing about working here is that you can be yourself and have your own hairstyle and clothing. Perhaps because of the nature of Kumamoto, there is no rush at work, and I feel like it's an environment where you can focus on your work calmly. The work location is mainly in downtown Kumamoto, around Kumamoto Manga Arts, a theater that is the base for the company's members.
The basic working hours are 7 hours. If I have to accompany an event, it can be longer, but since I'm a manager for the theater company members, I think that's part of the job. Also, sometimes events are held on weekends and holidays, but I have no problem taking compensatory days off. There's also a summer vacation system, so I'm not dissatisfied with the number of vacation days.
Teleworking is possible if it is used in a pinpointed way, but one of my important roles is to read the condition of the troupe members from their expressions and mood, so I feel that it is important to see them face-to-face and be together.
