With the aim of "developing manga outside Japan," Coamix is working to interact with and support young people who aim to become manga artists from around the world.
One of them is "Kumamoto International Manga CAMP". Since 2018, it has been implemented in cooperation with Takamori Town, Aso District.
At the camp, we invited particularly promising creators from the "Silent Manga Audition" winners to the town.We will teach you the know-how of manga making in the classrooms of facilities that used closed schools.Through lectures by well-known manga artists and editorial departments, participants will concentrate on learning techniques such as frame division techniques and tips for creating ideas.
In addition, camp participants will experience Aso's nature, food and culture with the locals.This experience also gave me an opportunity to get ideas for making manga after that.
Through these efforts, we are developing excellent manga artists all over the world and taking on the challenge of connecting Kumamoto and the world through manga.
