The 1st Coamix Kyushu Manga Award Ceremony was held.

The "Coremix Kyushu Manga Award" has been newly launched for new manga artists living in Kyushu.The first award ceremony was held on the 1th at the Carnation Hall (Kumamoto City) of Tsuruya Department Store, where the Core Mix Manga Lab is located.

The total number of applications was 71 (37 in Kumamoto, 18 in Fukuoka, 9 in Okinawa, 4 in Kagoshima, 2 in Nagasaki, 1 in Oita), and 13 prizes were awarded.

We received applications from a wide range of age groups, from 14 to 53 years old.

Each winner of the "Coamix Kyushu Manga Award" will have an editor in charge.At the award ceremony venue, each editor in charge welcomed the award winners and the first meeting was held to aim for a professional debut from Kyushu.

At the award ceremony, Coamix director Tsukasa Hojo, who served as a special judge, encouraged the creative activities of the winners.He talked about the purpose of the award, hoping that he would make his debut as a manga artist, which would have been difficult without going to Tokyo, in Kyushu.

The commendation certificate for the story category is given by Hojo, and the commendation certificate for the silent category and the name category is given by Nobuhiko Horie, the representative of Coamix.Horie told the winners that it is important to continue to hone their talents and that the editorial department of Coamix will provide support for that.

After the award ceremony, a social gathering was held with the participation of the award winners and guests who support the activities of Kumamoto Coamix.It also became a place for communication between the award winners.

Shuichi Mochida, the representative of Kumamoto Coamix, will be on stage at the end of the meeting.

After congratulating the award winners and thanking the guests, he said, "I want to make this the forefront of manga," and said his enthusiasm for talent development from Kyushu.

 

The "Coremix Kyushu Manga Award" is scheduled to be held twice a year.Currently, the second recruitment has started.
