All 15 lectures "Forefront of Manga Content" started at Kumamoto University Faculty of Letters!

"Contemporary Cultural Resources Course" newly established in the Faculty of Letters, Kumamoto University. Shuichi Mochida, the representative of Kumamoto Coamix, was invited as a lecturer to the manga lecture in the second half of 2020.

The "Contemporary Cultural Resources Course" is the first national university to study manga and anime as cultural resources and try to preserve them for posterity. Online lectures using Zoom began on September 9th.A total of 30 lectures will be held once a week until February 1.

In the lecture, from the perspective unique to Mochida, who has accumulated on-site experience in manga production as an editor, the latest market trends and the secrets of character creation in the water surface of hit works are talked about.In addition, he introduced the contents of the work of "editor who acts as a catalyst for the production of manga artists' works" (Mochida).In addition, as "a method that I definitely want to convey to people who want to become a manga editor, criticize and analyze, and write scenarios" (Mochida), it outlines the important things that Coamix thinks about manga making.
